Hello, acidrain
I suggest this layout design
http://sblive.narod.ru/ZX-Spectrum/MembraneKeyboard/PA-Keyb2.gif
The letter and number keys simply slide to the side. It turns out straight
original keyboard after all :D
ZY You can stuff a flop guide or
player%) (if, of course, someone wants to compact the spec board into it ;) )

Damn, COOL!!!!!! New version of the cartridge with software (under the dog!) for
collecting images of cartridges (with a menu!) from snapshots !!!!!!!!
ZY Interface II design is described in Spanish only

IMHO, it should be moved to a separate topic.

Hello fan
There is an idea: convert a regular PC keyboard into a ZX by soldering the cable
directly to the contacts connecting the film and the circuit. The mismatch problem
designations on the keys can be solved by changing the tables in the ROM, and
processing software that does not use ROM. STS, for example, is not needed at all
will redo it, because it uses keyboard polling from ROM.

Somewhere here there was already a reasonable proposal for a simple conversion of the PC keyboard into

It is precisely the bottom film with the iron plate that is replaced with its own signet :) A

There are indeed some problems with the keys.
Technically, if you really need extended keys, then the easiest way is to use
PC keyboard + controller combination. Due to the lack of a sane method of application
ZX markings on the buttons, you will have to use VASIK-128 :)

Hello, do_se
It is also very easy to remake PC keyboards that instead of films and
rubber bands have free-standing buttons with normally open contacts
Such keyboards always have a clear click.
So we simply cut off unnecessary paths and connect them with wiring as we need
necessary. The issue of extended buttons is also solved by logic.
I saw the same keyboard device on SUBOR consoles (Dendy with
keyboard)

They can be solved quite reliably with a flat cable.

Well, why didn’t I tell you, everyone is just silent as always.
It still seems to me that the device is not very useful, although I still took note.
:v2_wink2:
Firstly, you need a large ROM, but you can write prog there, but not at all
a lot and for example I can’t stand all sorts of magic and snaps. For me it’s better
normal file-by-file loading and what about programs with additional downloads or
all sorts of saves there. Do you have any interesting ideas for using this
cartridge?

Hello Costa
Use for its intended purpose ;) For all previously known options
The cartridges were a bit scary, and the games required manual adaptation. And this one
option may well become an alternative to downloading from a “turbo audio” source for
almost any spec (especially if there is some semblance of a system
connector). Additional loadings (as with “turbo audio”) in flight...

Hello Costa
Cos> and I can’t stand all sorts of magic and snaps
Snap Snap is different! Here [http://zxpilot.vladivostok.ru/games.shtml] I am
I posted snapshots for my emulator.
These are ordinary sna48 files, only there is a header of several tens of bytes,
necessary for PalmOS (it can be easily cut off, and you can find out the length by subtracting the length
standard SNA48 from Palm).
So, each snap was made using the following method:
1. Take the “branded” TZX of the game you are interested in.
2. During loading, the debugger sets a breakpoint at the end of the loading
last byte of the game.
3. A microscopic subroutine is placed two bytes below the top of the stack
waiting for any key to be pressed followed by an unconditional transition to
breakpoint address from step 2.
4. PC is rearranged to the address of the beginning of the subroutine from step 3
5. SNA48 is saved.
The snapshot obtained in this way has a branded splash screen that can be
contemplate before pressing any key, not a single byte of the code itself is touched
programs, only 11 (in my case) bytes of the stack are corrupted.
Why not load just such snapshots from cartridges???
True, this method is only suitable for games without additional loading levels....
P.S. Now I went to my page and discovered that for some reason the counters
reset... There were several hundred downloads for each game...

It will not output anything at all - in this case, the NumPad will not
being polled.
By the way, if anyone doesn’t understand, NumPad polling is done via a two-wire line in
sequential code.
The polling time is quite long (I don’t remember the value now - if necessary I can
clarify).
So in programs it will be quite slow.

Hello icebear
ice> Then I don't understand what difference it really makes what it outputs. Or
ice> maybe in BASIC-128 LEN will be issued instead of 0?
In Basic-128, this keyboard operates in two modes - digital or control.
In control mode, pressing the 0 key produces token LEN, which in the editor
executes the command "delete all characters in the line from the current position to the beginning
lines".
There is no way to enter this code from the standard keyboard field in Basic128 mode.
In digital mode, each key produces a code corresponding to its marking (0 ->
#30).
