BYTE worked fine for me for 10 years, but after a month of inactivity it doesn’t work

maybe you mean the reset procedure when the screen fills with red
vertical stripes, and then they begin to “disappear”.
it's actually a memory test. if it hangs until the stripes disappear, then
fail on this very test.
Try pressing reset again and “Y” “B” “A” together.
And about the non-working keyboard when the “combination” is pressed.

Don't be afraid ;)
For Byte 01, this is not even a hole-dos, but just a bunch of registers and multiplexers for
connecting Byte to the "tower".
And I’m talking about Hole dos for bytes (you know, simple ones, white ones, they also have
the word "Byte" is written, without any "01" ;) )
And I wouldn’t solder a hole-DOS controller different from those that are plugged in
I advised that I personally repaired 2 of these bytes. A cloud of wires, it’s not clear what
and where it leads. And definitely, after a month, at least one, and it will fall off.

I saw a similar controller. There was such a system there.
