Hi
I have this miracle.
First, let's talk about bytes and how they differed.
KVU (External Device Controller, This is a mini-tower type unit with a disk drive and
BP) was fundamentally different in series (01, 02) and (03, 04). This is what it says in
documentation:

KVU of all versions are designed to work with the BYT 01 PC.
Only versions KVU.01 and KVU.02 work with the BYTE PC.

Externally, KVU.01-02 and KVU.03-04 differ in the adapter that connects to
Byte (and possibly because KVU.01-02 was a housing for external
drive rather than a mini-tower case). For 01-02 this is the adapter "Byte-A" and for
03-04 is the adapter "Byte 01-A". Externally, the first one has a “Shutdown” button
TR-DOS". Assignment of contacts of the adapter system connector:

Inside my Byte-01 there are 16x RU5 installed (8x RU5G and 8x RU5A, B apparently for this
time, it became unfashionable to put “G” in the first bank) and 2x RF6, i.e. this is Byte 128
(16k ROM). When turned on, it actively tries to start booting from a floppy disk, and
to be in Basic you need to hold down the keys when turning on/resetting
"Y+B+A" (S+D+F). Moreover, it tries to boot from a floppy disk, regardless of whether
whether the KVU adapter is connected to the byte or not (If the KVU is not connected and you do not press YBA,
this gives the impression that the device is malfunctioning).
Inside the adapter (BYTE 01-A) there are three AP5 buffers and one bidirectional
buffer AP6. The KVU has a basket with three boards, an adapter is connected to one
(two AP5 and one AP6), FDD controller board (VG93) and COM/LPT/LAN board
(BB55+VI53+2xBB51). (mikruhi pointed out so that the main purpose is clear
specified blocks)
Help me revive the drive on this miracle...
Perhaps someone has saved images of the floppy disks from which it boots or
there is a description of the boot disk format/method of loading into "shadow RAM"contents of the ROM with subsequent switching to working with RAM (After all, it is clearly
this was done by software on original system floppy disks, which allowed
select ROM contents). Here is an example of a boot menu with the original system
floppy disks (Taken from the manual):

I also have the opportunity to simply change it to the BIOS with TR-DOS, but for some reason I
it seems that one of the engineers simply had to place something inappropriately
standard addresses, etc. And the keyboard is quite original...
PS: The condition of the floppy disks that were preserved with it only allows

Unfortunately I can't help you with anything of value :(
However, the fact that TR-DOS is there on non-standard ports is 100%.
Perhaps I can try to get the firmware for this TR-DOS.
PS As far as I know, Byte-01 is always 48k.

I had Byte-01 for a long time. I then suffered with the need to download from
TR-DOS 5.01 floppy disks after each reset. Although I later read that you can keep it
button ("5" like) along with reset and then TR-DOS is taken from memory, my
joy knew no bounds. :)
Many programs did not work due to the old version of TR-DOS. Although later I heard in
Brest made a modification of TR-DOS 5.03 (5.04?) for Byte-01 ports.
There is no need to install regular TR-DOS there: the ports are different and will not work.
Similarly with memory, although there is 128Kb, it is also “in its own” non-standard
ports.
