Hello, dj--alex
I got hold of the 3rd edition of M. Hooke's book "IBM PC Hardware", and on page 450
I come across the following words:
> Floppy disk type sensors (only for 3.5" drives) no output signals
> form. HD type sensor automatically (regardless of interface
> Low Current signal) should reduce the write current when in the HD drive
> QD floppy disk installed.
Attention, question: how then do 1.44 MB floppy disks with a sealed window work?
By analogy with 5.25" HD floppy disks, they should not be recorded, but they work!
