Sprinter HD/DD switch
ZXNet echo conference «code.zx»
From Ivan Mak → To All 22 March 1999
Greetings, All!
I received a request to throw information into the echo about switching 1.44/720 on the Sprinter...
For this, additional control lines of the internal COM port are used
processor.
SET_1440:
LD A,5
OUT(1Bh),A
LD A,0E0h
OUT(1Bh),A
RET
SET_720:
LD A,5
OUT(1Bh),A
LD A,060h
OUT(1Bh),A
RET
Switching to 1.44 puts the VG93 at 2MHz and doubles the circuit's input frequency
PLL and write precompensation.
There are no signals coming to or from the drive.
You can determine which floppy disk is in the drive, either by trying to read the floppy disk
in both cases, or by user selection (during formatting).
After working with 1.44 disks, you should set the mode to 720 so that the VG93 is not in vain
warmed up..
Wow! The Protoss are attacking my Zerlings! It's time to get going. Ivan.
