Interesting idea for a text interface in games:

One joystick selects a group of multi-colored letters, the other selects the color of the letter. Two
no joysticks are needed - you can switch from selecting letters to selecting colors
by pressing the fire button.

This idea of a color-letter matrix is already a long time ago. Back in the early 80s
experiments were carried out to create visual input means - people were put on
glasses on the eyes and there are two disks as in the subject’s picture. By pupil position
“clicks” and letter matches were calculated.
Everything new is well-hidden old stuff.
