BASIC "Start" parameter

Hello, All! The LIST command displays file parameters in trdos. Start and length of basics usually the same, but sometimes different. I forgot why... Does this seem to have something to do with the use of variables? And the more there are used, the greater the difference? And how is this difference calculated?
