Antiemulator

Press RESET immediately, All! Speed of the emulated processor in modern emulators uneven. You can try to determine this using the real time clock or general sound (most likely they do not work synchronously with the processor, unlike some other devices). Successful attempt to read anything from the tape (through ports only!) in the disk program version may also serve as a sign of an emulator. * Originally in ZX.SPECTRUM *Crossposted in CODE.ZX

From Aleksey Malov To Ilya Kudryavcev 6 January 2002

Hi, Ilya! Fri 4 Jan 2002, at 00:15:33 Ilya Kudryavcev told Aleksey Malov about Antiemulator IK> Here you go. I don’t call anyone for emulsion, but on the contrary, I call those who have IK> desire but no reality. If anyone gets it wrong, it's not my fault. From the outside it looked exactly like this: “I’ll write a program that’s only on emulators will work." Or wasn't it you who said it? IK> And in general, everyone decides for themselves how and what to work on, and buggy IK> anti-emulators are an attempt to infringe on human rights in the right to choose. IK> This is a violation of the constitution. Buggy emulators are also not good. IK> This is exactly what the anti-emulsion forces you to turn on and buy a real spec and IK> use it, but it’s no good. The problem of the subject is not such a problem actually. Because I don't really care I came across programs that would forcibly detect the emulator and after that definitions would refuse to work. Let there be a “defense” in the CV that hangs completely UKV by writing the word at #ffff. It's not exactly the hour when such a canoe would have happened with a completely normal program, not equipped with a subject. And so, look, the author heard about such a bug and fixed it to the delight of friends and enemies for evil. However, as far as I know, the author of UKV never corrected this glitch.IK> I can throw everything away and leave only the PC, because it can handle everything else IK> emulate, and I will work the same way as I wanted. IK> If someone hasn’t worked on the spec, they won’t do anything in the emulator, and IK> naturally, if you did, then after playing on the PC you will return to working on the ZX emulator. IK> Everything is simple here. With the transition to emulsion, “problems that did not exist before” appear. For example, the author of the RIP packer purchased the PC in the summer and has hardly released it for six months now a new version, although a few unpleasant glitches would be worth fixing. Reason trivial: there is not enough space on the hard drive (200 MB, or something like that), but I would like improve the algorithm by writing it in PC in C++, and then in Spec’s ASM port. Where would you put a compiler with such a screw? He has a real spec It is not known at all how it worked. Although I haven’t seen his gluodrome, judging by stories, it was very buggy, especially often the disks were damaged. Bye, Ilya. WBR, Vivid^Brainwave.

Press RESET immediately, All! In ZXStealth 0.500, pressing EXT+Z or EXT+SPACE is perceived as being pressed combination keys other than SS+CS. In a real Spectrum keyboard such naturally it cannot be. Check it yourself. Or maybe it’s all glitches of the PC keyboard. :-/ * Originally in ZX.SPECTRUM *Crossposted in CODE.ZX
