Large Hadron Collider
ZXNet echo conference «462.talk»
From Wladimir Bulchukey → To All 12 September 2008
A thoughtful, even philosophical anecdote appeared on zx.pk.ru:
"Once every fifty million years, physicists get together and build the Great
Hadron Collider". That's great! I've been thinking a little: humanity has recently
made a daring and, importantly, successful step, encroaching on the hypostasis of God:
deciphered its own genome and learned to clone itself. And it seems like
God has forgiven. Now humanity is encroaching on the mystery of the creation of the world. And then
Penza underground sectarians emerged from memory. Several times they
were about to come to the surface, they closed underground again, announcing
another date for the end of the world. As we remember, they were actually driven out of the ground.
And if not, wouldn't they set another date for October 21? How many times
was the launch date of the LHC, which was not mentioned then, postponed? Suddenly after all
God didn't forgive?!
