No. 3 (1991)

Baytik  ·  1 June 1991  ·  32 pp.  ·  circ. 50000
So, this is already our third issue. It’s hardly an anniversary, but in these difficult times—which are tough for magazine publishers too—it’s not bad going. Incidentally, there’s big news in the family of computer magazines. The fact is that ‘Baitika’s’ older brother, the magazine ‘Intercomputer’ (see the back cover of ‘Baitika’ No. 1), had long been planning to change its name to something even more prestigious. And finally, it has happened. The new name has been chosen: ‘Dr Dobb’s Journal’. The first issue of this computer magazine was recently published. Who is Dr Dobb? We’ll tell you all about it soon in ‘Baitika’. And now for our ‘Baitika’ news. Firstly, in this issue we are finally launching the ‘Let’s Play’ section, which most of our readers are probably eagerly awaiting. This section is dedicated to computer games. Here we will provide descriptions of games ( both old but still popular ones, and new, interesting ones, as well as ordinary entertainment games and more serious, educational ones), as well as ‘immortality’ cheats and so on. In addition, we plan to publish lists of the most popular games and hope to compile them with your help. Secondly, starting with this issue, most of the content will be printed in a smaller font. We hope this will not make reading too difficult or detract from the magazine’s appearance, but will allow us to include more content in each issue and thus make ‘Baitik’ even more useful and appealing to readers. And finally. We are convinced that a magazine like ‘Baitik’ is needed, and we are striving to make it as accessible as possible. But our country is very large, and ‘Baitik’ is still a new magazine, and far from everyone who needs it is aware of its existence. So we ask our readers: not only READ ‘BAITIK’ yourselves, but also SHOW it to your friends and acquaintances, TALK about it in the neighbourhood, at school, at vocational college, at technical college, at work...
