Eysenck on intelligence test - now on the Spectrum!
=== Start quote: ===
Eysenck, Hans Jurgen / Hans Jurgen Eysenk / (March 4, 1916
(Berlin) - September 4, 1997). His father was a recognized
actor and singer, and mother - star of silent movies. The
future of his son, they saw show business, and at age 8 Eysenck
has played a minor role in one of the films. However, when he
was 3 years old, my parents separated, and was raised by his
maternal grandmother. After graduating from high school Eysenck
decided to continue his education abroad, partly because he
feared Nazi prosecution. Years later, he wrote: "I knew that
for me there the future on my unhappy country "[Eysenck, 1982,
p. 289]. After a year spent in France, he settled down and
England where he studied psychology at the University of
London. In 1940, he was awarded a PhD. During the Second World
Eysenck war he worked as a psychologist in a psychiatric
hospital, patients who were suffering from the stress of war.
Since 1946 he has lectured in psychology at the University of
London and is also the director of the Institute of Psychiatry
at the hospital Models in London. He also worked in the post
advising professor at various universities in the United
States. In 1983, Eysenck, resigned, leaving the work at the
Department of Psychology, University of London.
Eysenck - an extremely prolific writer, he has published
about 45 books and 600 scientific articles. His main
theoretical work: "Measurement identity" (1947), "The
scientific study of personality" (1952), "Structure of the
human person" (1970), "Personality and individual differences
"(co-authored with his son, Michael Eysenck, 1985).
For the psychology of the figure Eysenck is quite
controversial. This is due partly to the central role in two
the hottest scientific debates - about the heritability of
intelligence and the effectiveness of psychotherapy. He
defended the view that intelligence is largely determined by
heredity, and that the traditional verbal therapy (in
particularly psychoanalysis) have minimum or no not effective
in the treatment of mental disorders. Both these positions have
been adopted by more than restraint, on which Eysenck has made
the following admission: "I used to be anti-establishment in
favor of the rebels. I am inclined to think that on these
items, most were wrong, and I was right "[Eysenck, 1982, p.
298].
G. Eysenck in his works repeatedly pointed out that
his research brought to life by the imperfection of psychiatric
diagnoses. In his view, the traditional classification of
mental illness should be replaced by a system of measurements,
which presents the essential characteristics of the individual.
When This mental illness is like a continuation of the
individual differences observed in normal people.
Much attention is H. Eysenck in his research on collecting
experimental data confirming the universality of he proposed
the measurement of personality.
The first of the questionnaires H. Eysenck - Moudsleysky
Medical Questionnaire "(Maudsley Medical Questionnaire, or MMQ,
from the name of clinic, which was created) - was proposed in
1947, followed for MMQ was offered "Moudsleysky Personality
Inventory" (Maudsley Personality Inventory, or MPI), published
in 1956
In 1969, Eysenck and S. Eysenck published a new survey by
entitled "Eysenck Personality Inventory" (Eysenck Personality
Questionnaire, or EPQ), which is designed to diagnose
neuroticism, extra-introversion and psychotism.
Many foreign studies to the argument that the introduction
of such a personal matter, as psychotism, has no scientific
rationale, experimental data are inconsistent, and the use of
scales psychotism in practice, can contribute to the appearance
of false diagnostic guidelines. Information about using the EPQ
in the USSR are not available.

Hans Jurgen Eysenck
Quantitative measurement of the ability to think, or a test
of intelligence, can be regarded as not directly related to
psychological diagnostics and seen as an instrument of
self-knowledge that is implemented in almost game form.
A computer program test offers a number of the subject (from
several tens to hundreds) of questions that need to either
choose a ready response from several options proposed, or to
construct a response on your own - for example, to enter a
number or phrase. To solve the problems need to use different
methods of thinking, which stresses logic, perception,
graphics, text and numeric information, as well as some direct
knowledge of a general cultural nature. For execution of the
test given to certain times, but the subject itself may divide
it between different tasks. Solve problems in any order, missed
assignments are presented again, but the task to which the
answer was, not re- produced, regardless of the answer is
correct. Meaning each job or explanatory text, or it is
required to identify himself.
Computer programs for determining the IQ (IQ) on a PC than a
dozen. So nice to see the emergence of this class of software
for the Spectrum.
Unfortunately (that perhaps debatable:)), the subject of IQ
Nicron already touched - in room 104, poludetektivnoy article
"Sir Clive Sinclair, or the Living and the Dead:) ". Let me
remind you that the IQ of Sir Clive equals 159.
Program TEST_IQ, located in the Appendix, written by the
author from Krasnoyarsk - Valentine / Fantom - and was
presented in Fido Vladimir Bogdanovich in February-March 2000.
Vladimir Bogdanovich has promised full cooperation in
establishing contact with the author and do not exclude that
there will be other programs of psychological self-knowledge.
Honest (in the sense in strict accordance with instructions
and strictly once) going all the test, I could see the high
quality of the program - the result coincided with previous
results on the PC. Checking for immediate family (my, not man
in general ;-)) just confirmed it.
And then I, in consultation with the representative of the
author, the upgraded program, without touching its contents, of
course. Shook all that it is appropriate to shake, remove
unnecessary podzagruzki from the disk, placing in memory the
entire schedule, altered the musical intro, made more
comfortable (in my opinion), keyboard input, corrected minor
glitches, introduced new ones:)). Enter Russian letters "H",
"W" "U", "E", "Yu" I've done both in the ZX-Word, although
their input in the old through the Extended Mode, also saved.
To use TEST_IQ need Spectrum 128K, preferably with AY.
Run-time test - 30 minutes of questions - 40. Else you need to
know from the very program and apply it only once for one
person, and this condition is necessary. Therefore, tune in to
the test in advance, take the time to remove from interfering
circumstances, make sure feel fine. Start test, select "2 -
Introduction and read the introduction. Then the actual test.
Remember that recycling programs will give overestimated
results, because you will use the experience gained in the
first test. AND the main thing: do not worry if your result
does not make it to the level of Sir Clive Sinclair ;-)) - any
IQ test principle is designed so that the allotted time it is
unable to fully pass a single person. If you wish to offer to
pass the test to your friends and family, do not tell them your
results and ask the other participants also did not disclose
their results until the completion of testing all participants.
