Hello, All!
That's the promise.
Do not judge strictly, this is my first essay of this kind.
ANTARES story about a trip to Kazan on CAFe'99.
Go to CAFe'99 we decided almost as soon as they learn about it.
Purchased tickets in advance, though even then very few tickets
left and we got only the top place in the reserved seat. And
now it is August 27. We arrived at EA Kazansky railway station
to catch the train, there were already Fil and one of the
mourners us - Boris Sharapov / Oper, who gave us advertising
KAY 1024 and SPECTRATOR, so we spread it to the party. Then,
for two minutes before train departure, came Konex and a second
attendant - Vladimir Bulchukey / Wlodek Black. Saying goodbye,
we playfully climbed into the car and drove off ...
Not upeli we ride and a few kilometers from the station, as
y Konex'a torn bag, which did not survive a large number of
full beer bottles bought at the station. But it is not Konex'u
spoiled the mood (and the rest too:)), and we continued to
feast on the platform.
After several hours of driving we ended a beer. And at the
next stop had to be purchased. It was Vehovka, and the city is
called Gus Crystal, where pushy salespeople crystal is not
allowed to leave the train. But still we managed to buy it yet
beer, and we drove on.
Fil was asleep at his place. And we met with the conductor,
as the place we were top and we had to hang out a conductor.
These were young girls, students from Yekaterinburg. Remember
the name of one of them - the Olympics. :-O
In short, that night in the train Konex with EA had a drink
for two around a box of beer.
The first day.
So, we arrived in Kazan. 7:00 am. We happily landed in the
engine, went to the station to buy tickets way back. In going
over the bridge over the rails EA was local law enforcement
officers stopped and fined for smoking in bridge by as much as
10 rubles. :). In general, we bought tickets to Moscow, and on
the superior train, because the other ticket to the capital was
not.
From the station on two trams we reached otstanovki
indicated on the map. We have been printing with a card
provided by the organizers. On it we can easily find that very
Palace of Culture. Mayakovsky.
And then we got into the hall, located on the third floor.
Facilities big, no windows, in front of the stage and screen
(as in cinema). By sides were speakers, and among them were
located near the stage desks with computers, there partying
organizers. Well, we shook hands, met with them. Found that our
work safely reached over the network and passed preselekt.
Also, we learned that have already arrived in Kazan Brainwave
from Yoshkar-Ola, and soon to come. And we went out to meet
them at the entrance. After some time, the basement of a crowd
of eight people. Long-awaited meeting with Antares Brainwave,
joy knew no bounds. :).
Prior to the party was still time. The four of us (Antares)
went for a walk through the neighborhood. Have come across some
ravioli. Ravioli was not there ... In general, the prices there
were very low and the amount of 10 rubles could be quite normal
eat, what we did. For comparison: tea with sugar was worth
only 43 kopeks.
Back in DC, on the road by buying beer. By this time
everywhere hung signs with arrows with symbols CAFe'99.
Before entering the hall stood a table, where visitors pay
entrance and received votelist'y (2 pieces, one for each day).
Pleasant surprise: we were free to with a beer in the room,
although in rulesah CAFe'99 it was banned. ;)
Start party, for whatever reasons, it was slightly delayed,
but it does not spoil the mood of anyone and does not entail
any consequences;). People arrived, the hall was filled ... We
were seated right near the center somewhere in the third row.
For us, where a series of five, settled Brainwave.
So, Computer Art Festival was officially declared open.
There were privetstennye word from organizers of the festival,
and was given the floor leaders of the present to the party of
creative teams.
Demonstrations began work ...
Votelist'y looked like? Simply, but tastefully. On a small
piece of paper have been listed down all of a compo day, and
after each name was numbered 15 cells (5 * 3). And in these
same cells have been demonstrated to exhibit evaluation work on
a ten-point scale. Work on Spectrum'e and BK were shown on TV,
and everything else through a projector on the big screen. Job
numbers announced over the microphone. In between contests show
the best demos, all sorts of videos, animations, etc. Show hits
of all time people about Bill Gates caused a flurry of
applause. Also, people hanging out on the street, the good
weather was excellent. People meet, exchange addresses,
drinking beer and taking photos. In short, this part of the
party could be called "cultural communication". Few of the
Kazan beer ... Well, what can I say? Beer is good, it makes the
plant "Krasny Vostok". Many varieties, of them, we tried about
five. Prices for beer is relatively low. Konex'u like Bayern
Munich, with EA, we drank "Zhigulevskoe", Fil does not drink:).
And as for the other varieties I better not say anything. ;)
Wild compo. This is somewhat reminiscent of the competition
"weak". More just liked the performance MAV'a / BW, as he
played through the microphone on the teeth to all known
melodies.
So, the first day of the festival came to an end. All have
passed their votelist'y filled for the first day. And merry
crowd (Approximate composition of which: Brainwave, Excess
[part:)], Antares) went home to Alexander Levin / Lasoft. On
the road Lasoft'u to the tram validated voucher to Moscow
Transportation, signed Konex'a was estimated Hacker'om GRI $ 100
(Who wants to buy contact Hacker'u GRI:)). We arrived
Lasoft'u to the apartment, we had about 15 people, then there
still drove a lot of people (almost as much again), and a
one-bedroom apartment. In the end BW'ATS (12 people) got to go
night to Vladimir Sheftel, before that devastated their little
stocks of food in the kitchen in 3 of 4 people call. :) Came to
the bus stop, the people there were many. In the first bus we
climbed up, went to the next. The bus was traveling "crowded"
does not stop at some bus stops, which caused outrage
passengers. Moreover plus impudent conductress, which, despite
the crush, managed to navigate the bus, pushing all of his ass,
and "extort" the passengers money:). But we still get to your
stop, where we already met V. Sheftel, owner of a cozy
two-bedroom apartment, from the balcony which overlooks a
beautiful view - night Kazan ...
By the way, is in Kazan, we brought a videotape recording
FunTop'98 film about a gift for Excess Team. That night, this
Tape is still with us, and we arranged a joint project with
BW view this movie. Then there was the drinking of brandy,
which, as it turned out, was a self-made:) and took him Den /
BW. All were in good spirits. Conducted "burp compo":) to the
most juicy and long belch. :) In one room served as a landmark
computer, and in another - a huge bed, which fits freely across
the five people. In this room, 6 people half the night and
pinned together bellow and sang songs such as "Titanic" "Blue
Moon", the anthem of the USSR, and much more. And all this is
recorded on tape.
Asleep all around 4 o'clock. In one room, sleeping 6 people
- five on the bed and one somewhere under the bed or near her.
And the remaining 7 were located in an adjoining room.
Thus ended the first day of the party and the first hidden
part.

Second day.
In the morning we stopped to pick up Lasoft'u forgotten
things, and from there sent my bags to the car and the light
got to DC, they went into that most Freestuff dining room and
ate.
Began the second day CAFe. On the works themselves and their
demonstration I will not tell. Otstanovlyus only Cosa-Cola
drinking compo. Five participants, volunteers were given on
two-liter bottle of the drink, and their task was to quickly
drink all the contents of the bottle.
Ended with all the components. Shel counting ...
Antares said "a couple of words in the camera. Backstage at
the piano playing music Manwe. On the big screen was viewing
"svezhesdelannyh" photos. And so began awarding ceremony. The
names of winners announced in the microphone. And after
graduation each winner'u call. Then the winners go to the first
floor to receive their cash prizes.
Diplomas looks something like FunTop'ovskie, A4.
Name and surname of the winner's printed, not handwritten. On
diploma, two seals and two signatures. One - Chairman of the
State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan on Children and
Youth Affairs MM Barieva, and another - Director Vysokogorsky
computer Center LV Bikmullina.
In general, the party is over, and started the second hidden
part. All leave your bags in the car and started walking to
Lasoftu rain. On the road went into a cafe and try the local
barbecue. Came to the apartment, there was already hanging out
a lot of people. The studio apartment slept about 20 people.
Someone was sitting on the internet, someone was drinking vodka
in the kitchen, someone was asleep. Konex with EA went for a
beer in the shop "Intel":).
By mid-night bed-places were not even on the floor, and pass
the room was extremely problematic. In the morning all woke up
and again, some have begun to torment computers. Half-day there
protusovalis, then went for a walk around the city on holiday,
and as luck would have it it started to rain. Walked along the
famous avenue Baumann (local Arbat). Photographed against the
backdrop of the newly opened memorial (Can not remember who).
The most important thing is that nobody in the crowd out of
their not lost. Then ate at some cafe (the prices there were 5
times higher than in the dining room, but significantly lower
than in Moscow) and went on foot to the station. Carried us
right up to our wagon trains corporate Tatarstan and Moscow.
Boarded the train and another hour continuously bellow,
remembering everything that happened over the past three days.
