              Hello!


  "Optron" | 1937 we have not quite normal. A
more precisely - really unusual. Therefore, it begins not with 
an editorial introduction, as usual, but with poetry. They 
borrowed from the Internet, from a page devoted to Tolkien - 
one of the founders of the so popudyarnogo current literary 
genre as fantasy. 

  The fact is that, as we already reported in
Lviv in early May, a festival of art song "Sribna pidkova" and, 
in his framework - "An Evening of the Middle Ages." And spent 
his passionate fans of fantasy and Tolkien, seeking to revive 
our life of a true chivalrous spirit, - "tolkinisty" or 
"tolkinutye" as they are sometimes called. 

  So we decided, "pushed off" from this event to release an 
unusual "Optron" tying together the story of today's Lviv 
tolkinutyh with arguments about Tolkien and fantasy.


  Every good idea has its followers. Will not discuss 
hudozhestvennnuyu worth of books Tolkien, compare them with

anything, but simply say that in his works such an idea is, and 
everyone appreciates it in his own ... Personally, I look at 
them as such things smart tale about the world is not this a 
little dusty as ours. 

  That's just a desire, a desire to escape from
dust and routine in some 'alternative
World, and is the basis of tolkinutymi so-called "hobbitskih 
merrymaking." But the participation in them - this is not all 
that it can do and makes the irrepressible tolkinist. Yet he is 
in any free moment begins to draw to crazy homemade sword 
kladenets, and then take and a month long lint of chain mail -

it is not easy! And "tolkinutye" love,
gathered together, waving to each other
their homemade swords, share new anecdotes from the life of 
literary heroes favorite books, and himself, on occasion, 
compose something of such things ... 

  Well, in that the ZX-newspaper took up
such a theme, nothing unusual there. Think about it - and you 
realize that between tolkinistami and spektrumistami have much 
in common. 

  Take at least, the popularity
game as "Black Crow": it, especially its first part - a great 
example implementation of the fantasy story on the Spectrum. 
That is why the message about the demo "Black Raven 2" also 
found its place in this issue.


  Fantasy theme and we will continue to | 38 -
too much material had accumulated, and
somehow reluctant to leave it on indefinitely, "then". I think 
these articles will be interesting not only for fans of fantasy,

but those who know about it only by hearsay, and even - its 
persistent adversaries.
