Hi, Alex!
Not just a hello, and hello to all
spektrumistov Kharkov! :) That's got
37 th Newskah and decided to write you a little bit
about our "knowledge" in the world Hayes modems.
:)
It all started a year ago: there was a first
spektrumist with Hayes modem - Gregory Shepelev, he also
released a wiring diagram modem to the spectral (very simple)
and terminalku ... True terminalkoy it is now difficult call,
but then 32 characters per line and calls Xmodem'om - it was
not bad ...
A little later, the modem is still a good buy
man (now my friend), Victor Soroka
(VIC). Since the modem was external, he developed his scheme of
COM-port and began to write a new terminalku.
Next was I bought an internal
FAXMODEM2400/MNP5/V42BIS, and connected it
scheme Shepeleva (about VIC'a I did not
knew). After some time I also began to
write terminalku, whose capabilities
there was more: 64 characters per line, reception /
transmission protocols Xmodem/Xmodem1k / Ymodem/Ymodem1k ...
But, it completed yet at 60 percent, I met Victor and learned
that he has finished terminalka with all the above charms, and
also supports ANSI graphics -
MELON1.0.
The main feature of Mellon is
that it uses the hardware video mode
Speck - 512X192 / 2 colors (the scheme was not
long ago in one of the "online"), which allowed not straining
to work with multiple PC BBS - they have the same 85 characters
per line. ;)
Well, of course, its to the term, I scored,
set himself 512X192 and away ...
The farther into the forest - the wood is,
DISMASTER / X-Project, and AMP / X-Project is also
got a modem, the head of X-Project
Corp. - DR.Squizer - opened a BBS for the spectrum, on the PC
though (like screws trailer - That's when we pohohochem;)!
Terminalka Melon is currently being finalized and is
accelerated Dismaster'om - already added receiver ZMODEM,
transmitter gradually completed. In his plans - to build in
Melon program "mailer," Well, to his "pointovskuyu" mail merge.
I am currently engaged in software processing Fido-mail, has
already written chitalschik PKT-mail format that's left to do
message editor with subsequent conversion in MSG format.
All of our designs for modem use video mode 512X192! And what
you want, unless of course Hayes will be on the move! ;)
Speaking of modems: once in the echo
ZX.SPECTRUM read such a stupid statement that Speck did not
pull the modem at 14400 ... Brad, however, I'm 3 days ago
bought a UMC14400, and? All ok! "Pulls" and without TURBO
mode! True port is locked at the 14,400, too ...

"Your" coders in terms of software for Fido?
